Footloose tells the story of high schooler Ren, who moves from Chicago to the small farming town of Bomont. The dance-loving teen is greeted by a local ban on dancing set by the town’s Reverend, who is determined to “protect” the local youth from the evils of rock ‘n’ roll. No one could predict the Reverend’s rebellious daughter, Ariel, would fall in love with Ren, making her current boyfriend jealous enough to ruin Ren’s reputation. The townspeople eat up gossip about the newcomer. Ren decides to challenge the ban before the Town Council, and the result will change Bomont forever.
